The cast of The Mighty Wurlitzer Radio Hour-- December 19, 2004

In 1992, The Mighty Wurlitzer Radio Hour was founded and given its name by legendary radio broadcaster Robert Conrad, President of WCLV. On October 28, 2001, radio history was made in Northern Ohio when The Mighty Wurlitzer Radio Hour was broadcast for the first time live from Razzmatazz Studios and the John Milton Williams Museum of Radio Broadcasting History coast to coast and around the world on wclv.com. For the past 13 years, Cleveland's award winning WCLV 104.9 FM has been broadcasting this show quarterly. In the style of a radio musical variety show of yesteryear, each program features a cast of professional performers and approximately 25-30 songs.

The Theater of the Air Chorus performs the majority of the songs, sometimes joined on stage by local choral groups from Saint Ignatius High School and Saint Joseph Academy, or solo instrumentalists such as concert pianist Michael Schneider. Larry Kass composes and plays several original songs in each show in addition to the well loved classics of radio's Golden Age. These are recordings of the radio show as they were broadcast, including the applause of the live studio audience, the voices of dramatic performers, host Robert Conrad and announcers Del Donahoo and Jim Mehrling. Each show's theme centers around a holiday or season, and is a unique addition to any musical collection.

Each CD is $15.00, and can be purchased by calling Razzmatazz toll free at 877-590-4849 or visiting our feedback page.
